Having to scroll to see photos in their entirety
« on: January 03, 2010, 14:30:03 »
Something that has been a bit of an irritant for me is having to scroll left and right to see a photo on HSnet. Is there any reason for the fixed borders or is there a way to widen them?

I'm with Matt on that....sometimes by accessing "review recent messages" they are scaled down a bit. Also I have seen a number of links that link to a smaller size over at Flickr.
It detracts from the stunning impression of some of these big shots...but annoying...

Matt, the site was built for 1024 pixels wide, and the actual width is 990 pixels to allow for the vertical scrollbar, without a horizontal scrollbar.

The forum itself could be widened, it would take a bit of manipulation to make the header & footer go 100%, but it could be done.  In the beginning, this was just easier.

Ive been wanting to re-wire the site using CSS layouts only, but haven't gotten to that point yet.

I will do some tests later today and see what can be done.

Wish I could claim credit for that, but it showed up as someone's Ebay feedback and I pounced on it.  ;D

As you can no doubt see, the site has now been set to 100% width.

Hope this helps!

Does it auto-size?  Because the forum view still seems small.  But when replying, it is larger.

Yeah it's set to 100%, so when there isn't enough content to fill it up, it is smaller.

Yeah it's set to 100%, so when there isn't enough content to fill it up, it is smaller.

It's perhaps more functional, but it looks weird with the header/footer going all the way across.

You can still size your window to whatever size is not "wierd".

I find it to be a great addition for photo viewing!
